How prices are calculated

Every calculator works the same way, in this order:

1. Start with the base price (Pricing rules → Base price).
2. Add per-unit amounts from number questions (e.g. 3 bedrooms × $25).
3. Add flat amounts from chosen options, extras and yes/no questions.
4. Apply percentage changes. These multiply the whole running total, for example “Deep clean +50%” or “Weekly −20%”. Several percentages multiply together.
5. Apply the minimum job price if the total is below it.
6. Round to your chosen step (nearest $1, $5, $10…).
7. If you've turned on a price range, show the low and high ends around that number.

Customers can tap “How is this worked out?” under the price to see each line. The same breakdown appears in the lead email you receive.

Quantity breaks

Number questions can have quantity breaks, so the price per unit falls as quantity rises. “Each unit priced by its band” charges the first 100 at one rate, the next 100 at another. “All units priced at the reached band” charges every unit at the rate for the total quantity, which is common for printing.

Tax

Under Pricing rules → Tax, choose whether prices include tax (e.g. “incl. GST”) or have tax added on top (“+ VAT”). Quotewise only displays this; you're responsible for charging the right tax on your invoices.
